Outstanding Older Adults Recognition Ceremony
Established in the early 2000s, the Outstanding Older Adults Recognition Ceremony is a program where congregations within the Presbytery of New Hope nominate older adults from their church to honor. Each year we honor our nominated older adults that are submitted to the Presbytery office by each congregation, at our 2-hour recognition ceremony. This award is presented to those who are over the age of sixty, and have performed extraordinary service to their church, community and who continue to be role models for all of God’s creations. The recipients receive a laminated certificate, swag gifts, and a special edition book of the years awarded OOA recipients. The ceremony ends with a dessert reception where we invite the family and friends of the OOA recipients to enjoy treats and further celebrate the acknowledgement of their beloved older adult. We look forward each year to expressing our gratitude for the years of selflessness and dedication that our older adults have committed to their congregations and communities throughout the years.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2025 ceremony. Recipient submissions were due by Friday, April 1 Via email to svillela@nhpresbytery.org. We hope to see you at the recognition ceremony on May 18th, at First Presbyterian Rocky Mount.
