A Few Who Dared To Trust God "I dare you!" Has anyone ever said anything like that to you? Too often these words are a dare to do something foolish or wrong. But not always. God's clear challenge appears throughout the Bible. He seems to be saying to each of us, "I dare you to trust me with all your heart and do what I want you to do!" In this book you will read about real people who accepted this challenge to trust God. None of them were perfect, and some of them even did terrible things. But all of them discovered how to trust and obey God. As you read about these people, take time to pause at the end of each section and ask yourself what lessons you can learn about how to trust God with all your heart. |

"An imaginative arrangement, preserving the on-going interest of a serial ... The illustrations are excellent ... and will hold the listener's eye if the book is being read aloud ... This selection provides a built-in continuity which other collections lack." Church Times "Written in a lively, easily understood style which still retains the dignity of the original ... The luminous artwork is realistic, expressive and well-researched in detail." School Library Journal "Many children's books retell Bible stories. This is one of the best for its factual, sensitive and imaginative approach. The stories are allowed to speak for themselves in a panorama of scripture from Genesis to Revelation, and each is beautifully and imaginatively illustrated. [Here is] storytelling par excellence, clear, uncomplicated, concise, superlative." Churchman "The selections are just the right length... After using this book for several months, I can enthusiastically recommend it for families with young children." Christian Home and School |

Around the Moringa Tree The Amazing Moringa Tree Bible study curriculum introduces children to the moringa tree and teaches how it provides nutrition, sustenance, and health for so many hungry people in God's world. The moringa tree program works best when it is fully integrated into a development system that addresses malnutrition and hunger with multiple interventions. Presbyterian DisasterAssistance and the Presbyterian Hunger Program are working with local communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Haiti to help develop ways to reap the benefits of the amazing moringa tree. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and the Presbyterian Hunger Program are supported by the One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering. Visit http://www.pcusa.org/oghs for additional information on how these programs share God's love with people experiencing need by helping them find safe refuge and start new lives by working together to strengthen their families and communities. |
